What is LUNAFEST? LUNAFEST is a collection of films by and about women. But it is not just a film festival – it is a force for change. For the past 21 years we’ve highlighted and celebrated a powerful and diverse set of women filmmakers and given their short films a national platform.
What is Zonta's In-person Event? Join us at the Milford Independent Cinema on Saturday, November 5 and watch the films with others. Doors open at 10:30 am with the movies starting at 11 am. Ticket includes a small popcorn and drink, Q & A session at the end of the films, and a surprise or two. We will be finished by 1:30 pm. Come experience films on the big screen with like-minded friends.
What is Zonta’s Virtual Event? Not able to join us in Milford? Purchase a virtual ticket and starting at 9 am on Saturday, November 5, you will have 48 hours to view the 8 short films from the comfort of your couch. You will have to make your own popcorn, but you can stop, go back, and repeat as many times as you wish.
Where do the proceeds go? Proceeds support the Zonta Club of Pontiac N. Oakland Foundation, a 501 (c)3 organization. Locally, we fund agencies that help women - victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking; we provide “non-traditional” scholarships for women; we share in the work of providing re-usable menstrual kits for women and girls around the globe. Internationally, we are working to end child marriage, make education available to girls in developing nations, eliminate gender-based violence, and achieve gender equality.
How do I participate? Purchase your $25 in-person or virtual ticket today. Then invite your friends and family. Tell your neighbors. Share this link on your social media. Because our work is not yet done. And we invite you to Play A Part.
**Due to the nature of the films, they are recommended for those over 13 years old.
