How To Submit

Whether you are a film student with a serious documentary, a rising indie star or an accomplished animator, LUNAFEST wants to see your work! We accept short film submissions from September 15th through March 15th each year, we seek unique stories created by, for and about women.

If your film is chosen by our LUNAFEST Board of Advisors, you get a $1,000 award. Even better, it will be screened by audiences at more than 150 venues throughout North America and serve as vehicle for raising awareness and funds for causes that women care about.

The Rules

• We like variety. Films submitted can be live action or animated, documentary or fiction, serious or light.
• Don’t be shy. All women filmmakers are welcome. Students and international entrants are especially encouraged to submit.
• Keep your short short. No more than 20 minutes please!
• Parlez vous subtitle? Foreign language films must be in their original language with English subtitles.
• Submit online through withoutabox.com.

• Pack it up nice. Review the submission guidelines and print and fill out the entry form, pack a separate DVD, clearly labeled with your name, address, phone and film title and send directly to us.
• Help a good cause If mailing in, include a check or money order with your $20 application fee, made out to the Breast Cancer Fund. (Student fee is $15; No fee for international applicants.)
